Kelly Ferreira received training in Shiatsu – a form of Acupressure therapy practiced in Traditional Chinese Medicine – from Boston School of Shiatsu, and was trained in massage therapy at theDoveStar Institute School of Massage and Alternative Healing Arts, in Derry, New Hampshire. Kelly has performed massage therapy professionally for more than 6 years, and is a licensed practitioner of massage therapy in North Carolina. She specializes in Kriya Massage Therapy – a form that utilizes and manipulates the natural energy withing the body to encourage relaxation, and healing – and performs: Abdominal Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release Therapy, Reiki, Reflexology, Trigger Point Therapy and Swedish Massage.
Kelly began her professional journey in agriculture. She managed a garden center for 27 years, and operated her own landscape design business. Kelly’s desire to care for plants led to an interest in the care, and healing of human beings. She decided to pursue this interest in 1995 by enrolling in The Boston School of Shiatsu. Kelly practiced Shiatsu part-time, while continuing to manage a Garden Center, and develop landscape designs. In 2008, Kelly decided to focus her energies on healing people, rather than plants; and so she enrolled in the DoveStar Institute.
Kelly relocated to Wake Forest in 2012, received her massage therapy license, and began anew as an Independent Licensed Contractor, providing massage therapy and energy healing. Kelly continues to attend massage therapy and energy healing educational classes in order to expand her knowledge, and to maintain her licensure(LMBT #12316) as required by the state of North Carolina.
When not practicing Massage Therapy, Kelly enjoys tending to her plants and gardening. She also loves to take advantage of the many hiking and biking trails that the triangle area has to offer.
